Loughborough Junction World War One augmented reality app launches - photos, south London

To celebrate the fourth birthday of Loughborough Junction’s carnival art charity and cafe, there’s a C.A.F.E Carnival Arts For Everyone taking place over the weekend, running from Friday 5th May to Monday 8th May.

Described as, “an imaginative and creative space that is a meeting point for south London’s arts and crafts community, ” the C.A.F.E. space offers carnival, food, arts and craft workshops and activities with for-hire studio space for rehearsals, workshops, evening classes, children’s activities and meetings. From Thursday, 5th May to Sunday 8th May – ART IN DE ALLEYWAY Sunshine International Arts proudly presents ‘Defending the Ten: 10 days of the #CarnegieOccupation’, a photography exhibition by
Richard Baker (www.bakerpictures.com), who happened to be on the spot when Lambeth residents occupied the Carnegie Library in Herne Hill on March 31st 2016, to protest against library closures.

Friday, 6th May, 6pm-10pm#CARNEGGIEOCCUPATION LAUNCH PARTY
Join C.A.F.E (Carnival Arts For Everyone) and those who the Evening Standard has dubbed ‘heroic campaigners’ for rum punch and Goat curry to celebrate #CarnegieOccupation

Saturday, 7th May, 2pm-9pmRUM N’ DRUM
Time to eat, drink and move to the drum beat. Goat curry, veg curry and roti available. Choose from three Rum Punch on offer. The day will be delivered in partnership with Jahdiafolila & Special Guests who will be providing a day of entertainment:

2pm- FREE Drumming workshop for kids (all welcome)
3pm- 4.30pm- Drumming workshop for adults (all levels, £15, places
limited)
5pm- FREE performance (all welcome)

Sunday, 8th May, 12pm-3pmYOGA@SUNSHINE  MULANA
Wind down on Sunday: breathe in, breathe out and harmonize.

From 12:00– Warm up with some tea and meet the Yoga at Sunshine ૐ
teachers.
12:30– Register for class. First come first serve basis. Spaces limited so arrive early.
12:45-13:45– FREE taster class with Ali and Claire. Suitable for beginners. Donations are welcome and will go towards our India based project Mulana: The Art of People.
13:45 – 15:00– Grab yourself some of our dhal lentil soup accompanied by freshly baked bread, courtesy of the micro-bakery The Crow’s Rest Bakehouse, who will be on site with a delicious bread stall.

Monday, 9th May, from 7:30pmLJAG WELCOMES BBUF EVENING
Loughborough Junction Action Group (LJAG) hosts a free open evening with guest speaker Valerie Beirne from the Better Bankside Urban Forest. Pop in to check out what LJAG has been up to and enjoy an
insightful evening about the potential of our public spaces.
